HINGE STRUCTURE AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE COMPRISING SAME - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18348776 titled 'HINGE STRUCTURE AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE COMPRISING SAME

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes an electronic device with a hinge structure that allows for rotation of two housings and a display covering them. The hinge structure includes two arm shafts that rotate and a link structure that moves linearly.

  • Electronic device with a hinge structure for rotating two housings and a display
  • First housing rotates about a first rotational axis, second housing rotates about a second rotational axis
  • Hinge structure includes two arm shafts that rotate parallel to an axial direction
  • Arm shafts rotate according to rotation of first and second rotating structures
  • Link structure moves linearly in the axial direction based on rotation of arm shafts

Original Abstract Submitted

An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a first housing, a second housing, a hinge structure connected to the first housing and the second housing such that the first housing rotates about a first rotational axis and the second housing rotates about a second rotational axis, the first and second rotation axes being parallel to an axial direction, and a display covering the first housing, the second housing, and the hinge structure, the hinge structure comprising a first arm shaft extending parallel to the axial direction and rotating according to a rotation of a first rotating structure, a second arm shaft extending parallel to the axial direction and rotating according to a rotation of a second rotating structure, and a link structure moving linearly in the axial direction according to a rotation of the first and second arm shafts.
