TECHNIQUES FOR BLOCKAGE SENSOR ASSISTED BEAM MANAGEMENT - A simplified explanation of the abstract

  • This abstract for appeared for US patent application number 18304737 Titled 'TECHNIQUES FOR BLOCKAGE SENSOR ASSISTED BEAM MANAGEMENT'

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a wireless communication system where a user device (UE) can transmit a monitoring signal using its antennas. The UE can then analyze the monitoring signal to identify any blockages affecting the antennas. Based on this identification, the UE can adjust the frequency of tracking occasions for the antennas and perform a beam search. This allows for improved wireless communication in the presence of blockages.

Original Abstract Submitted

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit a monitoring signal associated with one or more antennas. The UE may identify, based at least in part on the monitoring signal, a blockage associated with the one or more antennas. The UE may perform a beam search using a decreased frequency of occurrence of tracking occasions for the one or more antennas based at least in part on the identification of the blockage associated with the one or more antennas. Numerous other aspects are provided.
