IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18299814 titled 'IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes an image forming apparatus that includes an image forming portion, a fixing portion, and a bonding portion.

  • The image forming portion is responsible for creating the image on a sheet.
  • The fixing portion performs a fixing process where it fixes the image and a powder adhesive to the sheet.
  • The bonding portion performs a bonding process where it bonds multiple sheets together using the powder adhesive.
  • The bonding process involves heating and pressing the sheets using a heating member.
  • The patent application introduces a parameter called PP, which is the peak value of pressure received by the sheet in both the fixing and bonding processes.
  • The patent application states that there is a condition that needs to be satisfied, where the peak pressure value in the fixing process (P) should be equal to the peak pressure value in the bonding process (P).

Original Abstract Submitted

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming portion, a fixing portion configured to perform a fixing process in which the fixing portion fixes the image and the powder adhesive to the sheet, and a bonding portion configured to perform a bonding process in which the bonding portion bonds the plurality of sheets to each other with the powder adhesive by using the heating member to heat and press the plurality of sheets, wherein PP is satisfied, where P (MPa) is a peak value of pressure received by the sheet in the fixing process, and P (MPa) is a peak value of pressure received by the sheet in the bonding process.
