DYNAMIC INDICATION OF USER EQUIPMENT INITIATED CHANNEL OCCUPANCY TIME - A simplified explanation of the abstract

  • This abstract for appeared for US patent application number 18245704 Titled 'DYNAMIC INDICATION OF USER EQUIPMENT INITIATED CHANNEL OCCUPANCY TIME'

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a wireless communication system where a user equipment (UE) receives information from a base station about different fixed frame period (FFP) configurations. The UE also receives downlink control information (DCI) from the base station, which includes instructions on whether to enable or disable a UE-initiated channel occupancy time using the FFP configurations. Based on this information, the UE decides whether to initiate its own channel occupancy time or share the one initiated by the base station for an uplink transmission. The abstract mentions that there are numerous other aspects provided, but does not provide further details.

Original Abstract Submitted

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, information indicating one or more fixed frame period (FFP) configurations in a frame based equipment (FBE) mode. The UE may receive, from the base station, downlink control information (DCI) that schedules an uplink transmission, wherein the DCI includes content to enable or disable a UE-initiated channel occupancy time using the one or more FFP configurations. The UE may determine whether to initiate a channel occupancy time or share a channel occupancy time initiated by the base station to perform the uplink transmission based at least in part on the content in the DCI scheduling the uplink transmission. Numerous other aspects are provided.
