METHOD AND APPARATUSES FOR COORDINATING CAPABILITY OF TERMINAL DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18222667 titled 'METHOD AND APPARATUSES FOR COORDINATING CAPABILITY OF TERMINAL DEVICE

Simplified Explanation

This patent application describes a method and apparatus for coordinating the capabilities of a terminal device, such as a smartphone or tablet, when connected to different networks.

  • The method involves determining the communication state of two different communication identities associated with the terminal device - one for the first network and another for the second network.
  • Based on the communication states of these identities, the method determines the communication capability of the first communication identity.
  • The goal is to effectively coordinate the capabilities of the terminal device across different networks, ensuring optimal communication performance.
  • This innovation can improve the overall user experience by enabling seamless switching between networks and maximizing the device's communication capabilities.
  • It has potential applications in various scenarios, such as multi-network environments, where a terminal device needs to adapt and optimize its communication capabilities based on the available networks.

Original Abstract Submitted

A method for coordinating capability of a terminal device, and apparatuses for coordinating capability of a terminal device are provided. The method includes: determining a communication state of a first communication identity and a communication state of a second communication identity, the first communication identity being a communication identity, of the terminal device, corresponding to the first network, and the second communication identity being a communication identity, of the terminal device, corresponding to a second network; and determining a communication capability of the first communication identity based on the communication state of the first communication identity and the communication state of the second communication identity.
