VIDEO SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM, VIDEO PROCESSING APPARATUS, VIDEO PROCESSING METHOD, AND VIDEO PROCESSING PROGRAM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18222360 titled 'VIDEO SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM, VIDEO PROCESSING APPARATUS, VIDEO PROCESSING METHOD, AND VIDEO PROCESSING PROGRAM

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a video processing apparatus used in surveillance systems.

  • The apparatus includes a video analyzer that analyzes video data from a surveillance camera and detects events of a specific category.
  • The video analyzer outputs the detection results.
  • A display controller is included to display a category setting screen along with the video, allowing the operator to set the category of the events in the video.
  • A learning data accumulator collects and stores the category information set by the operator as learning data.
  • The video analyzer uses the accumulated learning data to improve its analysis and detection capabilities.

Original Abstract Submitted

A video processing apparatus includes a video analyzer that analyzes video data captured by a surveillance camera, detects an event belonging to a specific category, and outputs a detection result, a display controller that displays, together with a video of the video data, a category setting screen for setting a category of an event included in the video, and a learning data accumulator that accumulates, as learning data together with the video data, category information set in accordance with an operation by an operator to the category setting screen. The video analyzer performs learning processing by using the learning data accumulated in the learning data accumulator.
