IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

  • This abstract for appeared for US patent application number 18192201 Titled 'IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM'

Simplified Explanation

This abstract describes an apparatus that uses information about the orientation of images to detect objects within those images. It sets coefficients in arrays based on the image orientation information, generates maps by applying these coefficients to the images, and acquires template features corresponding to objects from these maps. The template features are then registered in arrays based on the image orientation information. The apparatus then sets coefficients in a second array based on the orientation information of a second image, generates a second map using these coefficients, and sets the template feature in a feature array based on the second image orientation information. Finally, it performs a correlation calculation between the template feature and the second map to detect the object within the second image.

Original Abstract Submitted

An apparatus sets coefficients in a first array based on first information indicating an image capturing orientation of a first image, generates a first map by applying the coefficients to the first image, acquires a template feature corresponding to an object based on the first map, registers the template feature in an array based on the first information, sets coefficients in a second array based on second information indicating an image capturing orientation of a second image, generates a second map by applying the coefficients set in the second array to the second image, sets the template feature in a feature array based on the second information, performs a correlation calculation between the template feature set in the feature array and the second map, and detects the object from the second image based on a result of the correlation calculation.
