USER EQUIPMENT CACHE MODIFICATION FOR EDGE COMPUTING - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18044751 titled 'USER EQUIPMENT CACHE MODIFICATION FOR EDGE COMPUTING

Simplified Explanation

- The patent application is related to wireless communication and specifically focuses on a user equipment (UE) storing DNS information associated with an edge application server. - The UE receives either a handover message or a transfer message related to the application context. - Based on receiving the message, the UE modifies the DNS cache by either updating the DNS information or flushing it. - The purpose of this modification is to ensure that the DNS cache is accurate and up-to-date with the current location of the application context. - The patent application suggests that there are numerous other aspects and details provided, but they are not specified in the abstract.

Original Abstract Submitted

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may store, in a domain name system (DNS) cache, DNS information associated with an edge application server at which an application context, associated with an application client resident on the UE, is located. The UE may receive a first message associated with a handover of the UE or a second message associated with a transfer of the application context. The UE may modify the DNS cache, by updating the DNS information or flushing the DNS information, based at least in part on receiving the first message or the second message. Numerous other aspects are provided.
