CHANNEL STATE INFORMATION REFERENCE SIGNAL TRIGGERING WHEN SECONDARY CELL DORMANCY IS CONFIGURED - A simplified explanation of the abstract

  • This abstract for appeared for US patent application number 18042538 Titled 'CHANNEL STATE INFORMATION REFERENCE SIGNAL TRIGGERING WHEN SECONDARY CELL DORMANCY IS CONFIGURED'

Simplified Explanation

This abstract describes methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications. It explains that a user equipment (UE) can identify a cell measurement supported by the UE, which is associated with the UE supporting channel state information measurements of a dormant secondary cell in a cell group. The UE then receives downlink control information that triggers channel state information reference signal measurements for a set of cells in the cell group, including the dormant secondary cell. Based on this information, the UE performs channel state information reference signal measurements on one or more cells in the set of cells, according to the cell measurement supported by the UE. This allows the UE to identify the channel state information for each of the one or more cells.

Original Abstract Submitted

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify a cell measurement supported by the UE, the cell measurement associated with the UE supporting channel state information measurements of a dormant secondary cell in a cell group. The UE may receive a downlink control information triggering channel state information reference signal measurements for a set of cells in the cell group, the set of cells comprising the dormant secondary cell. The UE may perform, based at least in part on the downlink control information, the channel state information reference signal measurements on one or more cells in the set of cells according to the cell measurement supported by the UE to identify channel state information for each of the one or more cells.
