MEDIA FILE PROCESSING METHOD AND APPARATUS THEREFOR - A simplified explanation of the abstract

  • This abstract for appeared for US patent application number 18026959 Titled 'MEDIA FILE PROCESSING METHOD AND APPARATUS THEREFOR'

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a method for generating a media file. The method involves configuring flag information about a target layer in an OLS (Operating Layer Set), which indicates whether the maximum number of temporal sub-layers for interlayer prediction exists. The method also involves configuring flag information about whether the target layer is an output layer. Based on these flag information, the method configures the maximum number of temporal sub-layers. Finally, the method generates a media file that includes operating point information sample group, where the information about the maximum number of temporal sub-layers is configured based on specific conditions of the flag information.

Original Abstract Submitted

A media file generation method according to the present document comprises the steps of: configuring first flag information about a target layer in an OLS, the first flag information indicating information about whether the maximum number of temporal sub-layers for interlayer prediction exists; configuring second flag information about whether the target layer is an output layer; configuring the information about the maximum number of temporal sub-layers on the basis of the first flag information and the second flag information; and generating a media file including an operating point information sample group, wherein the information about the maximum number of temporal sub-layers is configured in the operating point information sample group on the basis of the first flag information being the same as 1 and the second flag information being the same as 0.
