PRIORITIZATION OF UPLINK COMMUNICATIONS VIA MULTIPLE ANTENNA PANELS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18004873 titled 'PRIORITIZATION OF UPLINK COMMUNICATIONS VIA MULTIPLE ANTENNA PANELS

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications.

  • A user equipment (UE) can identify uplink communications that are associated with different antenna panels and scheduled to overlap in time.
  • The UE can resolve the overlap by following a set of rules for concurrent uplink communications associated with different antenna panels.
  • Based on resolving the overlap, the UE can transmit either a portion of the first set of uplink communications or a portion of the second set of uplink communications.
  • The transmission can be done via the first antenna panel or the second antenna panel.

Original Abstract Submitted

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify uplink communications which are associated with different antenna panels and scheduled to at least partially overlap in time. The UE may resolve the overlap based on a set of rules for concurrent uplink communications associated with different antenna panels. Based on resolving the overlap, the UE may transmit at least a portion of the first set of uplink communications or at least a portion of the second set of uplink communications via the first antenna panel or the second antenna panel.
