METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRANSMITTING POWER HEADROOM REPORT BY USER EQUIPMENT IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17982822 titled 'METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRANSMITTING POWER HEADROOM REPORT BY USER EQUIPMENT IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

Simplified Explanation

- The patent application describes a method for a user equipment (UE) to transmit a power headroom report (PHR) in a wireless communication system. - The method involves selecting a power headroom value from multiple Transmission and Reception Points (TRPs) of a serving cell belonging to a first cell group. - The PHR is generated with the selected power headroom value and is transmitted to a network through a second cell group that does not have the same configuration as the first cell group. - The selected power headroom value is specifically related to a TRP where an actual transmission occurs among the multiple TRPs. - The purpose of this method is to efficiently transmit the PHR to the network, allowing for better management of power resources in the wireless communication system.

Original Abstract Submitted

A method for transmitting a power headroom report (PHR) by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system is disclosed. The method comprises steps of selecting a first power headroom value among power headroom values for two or more Transmission and Reception Points (TRPs) of a serving cell belonging to a first cell group configured with two PHR mode; generating the PHR including the first power headroom value; transmitting the PHR to a network through a second cell group not configured with the two PHR mode, wherein the first power headroom value is related to a TRP on which a real transmission occurs among the two or more TRPs.
