Ultra-Wide Band Channel Access–Opportunistic Reservation - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17951280 titled 'Ultra-Wide Band Channel Access–Opportunistic Reservation
Simplified Explanation
The patent application describes a system for coordinating and managing communication channels using ultra-wide band (UWB) technology.
- The system includes a device that scans an arbitration channel to determine if it is available for use.
- If the arbitration channel is not in use, the device performs a channel access procedure on the arbitration channel.
- Once the device has access to the arbitration channel, it can then use the UWB channel for communication during a designated transmission opportunity.
- This system helps ensure efficient and coordinated use of the UWB channel, reducing interference and improving overall communication performance.
Original Abstract Submitted
Systems, methods, and mechanisms for an out-of-band (OOB) ultra-wide band (UWB) channel arbitration and/or channel coordination scheme. A device may scan an arbitration channel for a first time period, and based on the scanning, that the arbitration channel is not in use. The device may perform, on the arbitration channel, a first channel access procedure and perform, on the UWB channel, UWB communications during a UWB channel transmission opportunity.
