METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRANSMITTING TRUNCATED MAC CONTROL ELEMENT REPORT BY USER EQUIPMENT IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

  • This abstract for appeared for US patent application number 17932164 Titled 'METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRANSMITTING TRUNCATED MAC CONTROL ELEMENT REPORT BY USER EQUIPMENT IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM'

Simplified Explanation

This abstract describes a method for a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system to transmit a truncated Medium Access Control (MAC) Control Element (CE) report. The method involves triggering the transmission of one or more MAC CEs and receiving an uplink grant from the network. If the uplink grant does not accommodate the MAC CEs, the UE generates a MAC Protocol Data Unit (PDU) that includes a truncated MAC CE report. The UE then transmits the MAC PDU to the network, where the truncated MAC CE report contains information about MAC CEs that were triggered but not fully included in the MAC PDU.

Original Abstract Submitted

A method for transmitting a truncated Medium Access Control (MAC) Control Element (CE) report by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system is disclosed. The method comprises steps of triggering transmissions of one or more MAC CEs; receiving an uplink grant from a network; based on the uplink grant not accommodating the one or more MAC CEs, generating a MAC Protocol Data Unit (PDU) including a truncated MAC CE report; transmitting the MAC PDU to the network, wherein the truncated MAC CE report includes information related to at least one MAC CE which is triggered but not included or partially included in the MAC PDU among the one or more MAC CEs.
