Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a network node, an indication of a first bandwidth requested to be used for communications between the UE and the network node, the first bandwidth being based at least in part on a parameter associated with the UE, and the parameter being based at least in part on one or more channel conditions. The UE may receive, from the network node, an indication that the first bandwidth or a second bandwidth is to be used for the communications between the UE and the network node.
