TECHNIQUES FOR CYCLIC FREQUENCY HOPPING IN SUB-BAND FULL DUPLEX SLOTS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17738888 titled 'TECHNIQUES FOR CYCLIC FREQUENCY HOPPING IN SUB-BAND FULL DUPLEX SLOTS

Simplified Explanation

This patent application describes methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications. Here is a simplified explanation of the abstract:

  • A network node sends a message to a user equipment (UE) indicating two frequency ranges for uplink data transmission.
  • The UE adjusts the frequency for at least one of the frequency ranges based on whether they overlap with a downlink portion of a sub band full duplex duration.
  • During a specific time period, the UE transmits the uplink data in one of the frequency ranges, based on the adjusted frequency.

Key points about the patent/innovation:

  • The patent focuses on improving wireless communication by optimizing frequency ranges for uplink data transmission.
  • It introduces the concept of applying a frequency offset to avoid interference between uplink and downlink transmissions.
  • The innovation allows for more efficient use of frequency resources and reduces potential signal interference.

Original Abstract Submitted

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A network node may transmit a message to a user equipment (UE) indicating at least a first frequency range for uplink data and a second frequency range for the uplink data. The UE may apply a frequency offset for at least one of the first frequency range or the second frequency range based at least in part on the first frequency range, the second frequency range, or both, overlapping with a downlink portion of a sub band full duplex duration. The UE may transmit, during a first portion of the sub band full duplex duration, the uplink data in the first frequency range, the second frequency range, or a third frequency range based at least in part on applying the frequency offset for at least one of the first frequency range or the second frequency range.
