UPLINK CONTROL CHANNEL RESOURCE SELECTION FOR SCHEDULING REQUEST TRANSMISSION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

  • This abstract for appeared for US patent application number 17731406 Titled 'UPLINK CONTROL CHANNEL RESOURCE SELECTION FOR SCHEDULING REQUEST TRANSMISSION'

Simplified Explanation

This abstract describes methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications. It explains that some wireless communication systems allow a user equipment (UE) to choose a scheduling request resource from multiple resources allocated across different cells. The UE receives control signaling indicating a first scheduling request resource on a first cell and a second scheduling request resource on a second cell. The UE generates a scheduling request that can be used with both resources. It then selects the first scheduling request resource for transmission on the first cell based on factors such as the power mode of the UE, signal quality of the first cell, or the numerology of the first cell. Finally, the UE transmits the scheduling request using the selected resource on the first cell.

Original Abstract Submitted

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Some wireless communications systems may support techniques for a user equipment (UE) to select a scheduling request resource from multiple scheduling request resources allocated across different cells based on one or more conditions. The UE may receive control signaling that indicates a first scheduling request resource on a first cell and a second scheduling request resource on a second cell. The UE may generate a scheduling request applicable to the first and second scheduling request resources. The UE may select the first scheduling request resource for transmission of the scheduling request on the first cell based on one or more of a power mode of the UE, a signal metric associated with the first cell, or a numerology of the first cell. The UE may transmit the scheduling request via the first resource on the first cell based on the selecting.
