USER EQUIPMENT (UE)-BASED RADIO FREQUENCY FINGERPRINT (RFFP) POSITIONING WITH DOWNLINK POSITIONING REFERENCE SIGNALS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

  • This abstract for appeared for US patent application number 17661538 Titled 'USER EQUIPMENT (UE)-BASED RADIO FREQUENCY FINGERPRINT (RFFP) POSITIONING WITH DOWNLINK POSITIONING REFERENCE SIGNALS'

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes techniques for wireless communication. It explains that a user equipment (UE) receives positioning assistance data messages from a first network entity for a downlink radio frequency fingerprint (DL-RFFP) positioning procedure. These messages include parameters related to a machine learning model that the UE uses for the DL-RFFP positioning procedure. The UE then transmits location information messages to a second network entity, which include parameters related to the DL-RFFP positioning procedure.

Original Abstract Submitted

Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) receives one or more positioning assistance data messages for a downlink radio frequency fingerprint (DL-RFFP) positioning procedure from a first network entity, the one or more positioning assistance data messages including at least one parameter related to a machine learning model the UE is configured to use for the DL-RFFP positioning procedure, and transmits one or more location information messages to a second network entity, the one or more location information messages including one or more parameters related to the DL-RFFP positioning procedure.
