USER EQUIPMENT (UE)-BASED RADIO FREQUENCY FINGERPRINT (RFFP) POSITIONING WITH DOWNLINK POSITIONING REFERENCE SIGNALS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

  • This abstract for appeared for US patent application number 17661534 Titled 'USER EQUIPMENT (UE)-BASED RADIO FREQUENCY FINGERPRINT (RFFP) POSITIONING WITH DOWNLINK POSITIONING REFERENCE SIGNALS'

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a technique for wireless communication. In this technique, a user equipment (UE) sends messages to a location server to provide information about its capabilities for a downlink radio frequency fingerprint (DL-RFFP) positioning procedure. The UE then receives positioning assistance data messages from the location server, which are tailored based on the UE's capabilities.

Original Abstract Submitted

Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) transmits one or more provide capabilities messages to a location server, the one or more provide capabilities messages indicating at least a first set of capabilities of the UE to engage in a downlink radio frequency fingerprint (DL-RFFP) positioning procedure, and receives one or more positioning assistance data messages for the DL-RFFP positioning procedure from the location server, the one or more positioning assistance data messages based at least on the first set of capabilities.
