HANDLING MISALIGNMENT BETWEEN ARRIVAL OF CRITICAL DATA FOR TRANSMISSION AND TRANSMISSION OCCASIONS OF A CONFIGURED GRANT - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240137943 titled 'HANDLING MISALIGNMENT BETWEEN ARRIVAL OF CRITICAL DATA FOR TRANSMISSION AND TRANSMISSION OCCASIONS OF A CONFIGURED GRANT

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes systems and methods for transmitting a mixture of critical and non-critical data in a wireless network.

  • The method involves receiving a configured uplink grant that allocates uplink resources in multiple transmission time intervals.
  • It determines when critical data is to be transmitted using the configured uplink grant.
  • The method includes transmitting the critical data using allocated uplink resources in a specific transmission time interval.

Potential Applications

This technology could be applied in various industries such as telecommunications, IoT, and smart devices where the transmission of critical data is essential.

Problems Solved

1. Efficient transmission of critical data in a wireless network. 2. Optimizing the allocation of uplink resources for different types of data.

Benefits

1. Improved reliability and timeliness of critical data transmission. 2. Enhanced network performance by prioritizing critical data. 3. Better utilization of uplink resources in wireless networks.

Potential Commercial Applications

Optimizing data transmission in emergency response systems, real-time monitoring applications, and industrial automation.

Original Abstract Submitted

systems and methods are disclosed herein for transmitting a mixture of critical and non-critical data in a wireless network. in some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless device comprises receiving a configured uplink grant that allocates uplink resources in a plurality of transmission time intervals and determining, at a time t, that critical data is to be transmitted using the configured uplink grant, where a time t+pt occurs after a start of a particular transmission time interval and where pt is a preparation time needed to prepare an uplink transmission on the configured uplink grant. the method further comprises transmitting an uplink transmission comprising the critical data using allocated uplink resources in the particular transmission time interval starting at a time that is at or after the time t+pt. corresponding embodiments of a wireless device are also disclosed.
