DRIVE CIRCUIT UNIT, HEAD UNIT, AND LIQUID DISCHARGE APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240109290 titled 'DRIVE CIRCUIT UNIT, HEAD UNIT, AND LIQUID DISCHARGE APPARATUS

Simplified Explanation

The drive circuit unit described in the abstract is a component that controls the operation of a head by discharging liquid from a nozzle in a specific direction based on a drive signal. The unit includes a fan and a power supply board that supplies power to the drive circuit. The power supply board is positioned on a side opposite to the direction of liquid discharge, with the fan mounted on its surface. The height of the tallest object on the surface of the power supply board is equal to or less than the length of the head in the transport direction.

Potential Applications

The technology described in this patent application could be applied in various industries such as printing, 3D printing, and manufacturing where precise control of liquid discharge is required.

Problems Solved

This technology solves the problem of efficiently driving a head to discharge liquid in a specific direction while ensuring the components are arranged in a compact and practical manner.

Benefits

The benefits of this technology include improved accuracy and control in liquid discharge processes, compact design for space-saving, and efficient power supply management.

Potential Commercial Applications

The potential commercial applications of this technology include inkjet printers, 3D printers, industrial manufacturing equipment, and medical devices requiring precise liquid dispensing.

Possible Prior Art

One possible prior art could be the use of separate components for driving a head and supplying power, but the specific arrangement and compact design as described in this patent application may be unique.

Original Abstract Submitted

provided is a drive circuit unit that drives a head including a discharge section discharging, based on a drive signal, a liquid from a nozzle in a first direction, the drive circuit unit including: a fan; and a power supply board disposed on a side in a second direction opposite to the first direction with respect to the head, supplying power to a drive circuit, and having a first surface on which the fan is mounted, in which a height of a first object, which is a highest of objects mounted on the first surface in a direction orthogonal to the first surface, is equal to or less than a length of the head in a transport direction, and the first surface is a surface parallel to the first direction or a surface oblique to the first direction.
