Position determination entity (PDE) is disclosed to receive a request to schedule a future on-demand PRS positioning session for a user equipment (UE). The request includes a set of parameters, some of which may not be available at the time of the request. The PDE determines the availability of these parameters at the future time and configures the PRS (Position Reference Signal) in advance for the scheduled session.
