AUDIO PROCESSING HANDOVER BETWEEN AUDIO DEVICES - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240098607 titled 'AUDIO PROCESSING HANDOVER BETWEEN AUDIO DEVICES

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes techniques for audio processing handover between audio devices.

  • Select a primary audio input device and deactivate the second audio device.
  • Perform voice processing algorithm on the primary audio device.
  • Activate the second audio device if the quality of the first audio signal does not meet a threshold.
  • Measure the quality of the second audio signal and compare it with the first audio signal.
  • Select the audio device with better quality as the primary input device.
  • Deactivate the lower quality device and continue voice processing on the selected device.
  • Repeat the process if the quality deteriorates again.

Potential Applications

This technology could be applied in various audio devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, and smart speakers to ensure seamless audio processing handover for better user experience.

Problems Solved

1. Ensures continuous high-quality audio processing without interruptions. 2. Automatically switches between audio devices based on signal quality, improving user experience.

Benefits

1. Improved audio quality during voice processing. 2. Seamless handover between audio devices. 3. Enhanced user experience with minimal disruptions in audio processing.

Potential Commercial Applications

"Audio Processing Handover Technology for Seamless User Experience" could be used in consumer electronics, telecommunication devices, and smart home systems to enhance audio processing capabilities.

Possible Prior Art

What are the potential security implications of audio handover between devices?

The patent application does not discuss the security aspects of transferring audio signals between devices. It would be crucial to explore how this technology ensures data privacy and prevents unauthorized access to audio data during handover processes.

Original Abstract Submitted

disclosed are techniques for audio processing handover between audio devices. in an aspect, a method of audio processing handover between audio devices comprises selecting a first audio device to be a primary audio input device and deactivating the second audio device; performing a voice processing algorithm on the first audio device; detecting that the quality of the first audio signal does not satisfy a quality threshold, and in response, activating the second audio device and measuring the quality of the second audio signal. if the quality of the second audio signal is better than the quality of the first audio signal, select the second audio device to be the primary audio input device, deactivate the first audio device, and perform the voice processing algorithm on the second audio device. otherwise, deactivate the second audio device for some amount of time before checking again.
