A control unit is configured to control the wavelength variable optical transmitting unit and the wavelength variable optical receiving unit. The control unit sets, based on the second channel information that the wavelength variable optical receiving unit has transferred, a first channel indicated by the second channel information as a channel through which the wavelength variable optical receiving unit receives an optical signal.
