CONNECTOR AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240106172 titled 'CONNECTOR AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a socket assembly with a connecting base and a shielding structure, along with a plug assembly containing a connecting head with a signal terminal and a ground component. When the plug assembly is connected to the socket assembly, the signal terminal is conducted to the signal port while the ground component is bonded to the shielding structure, improving signal transmission integrity.

  • The socket assembly includes a connecting base with a signal port and a shielding structure.
  • The plug assembly consists of a connecting head with a signal terminal and a ground component.
  • When connected, the signal terminal is conducted to the signal port, and the ground component is bonded to the shielding structure.

Potential Applications

This technology could be used in various electronic devices and equipment that require reliable signal transmission, such as computers, smartphones, and networking devices.

Problems Solved

This technology helps prevent signal current return, reduces crosstalk resonance, and enhances signal transmission integrity, addressing common issues in connector design.

Benefits

This technology improves signal transmission reliability by preventing signal current return and reducing crosstalk resonance, which are common issues in traditional connector designs.

Original Abstract Submitted

a socket assembly includes a connecting base, comprising a signal port and a shielding structure. the shielding structure is disposed around a peripheral edge of the signal port. the plug assembly includes a connecting head. the connecting head includes a signal terminal and a ground component. the signal terminal and the ground component are disposed side by side. when the plug assembly is fixedly connected to the socket assembly, each connecting head extends into one connecting base, the signal terminal is conducted to the signal port, and the ground component is bonded to the shielding structure. in this application, the shielding structure of the connector is disposed around peripheral edges of the signal terminal and the signal port, and forms bonding with the ground component. this may effectively prevent a phenomenon of signal current return, avoids impact of crosstalk resonance, and improves signal transmission integrity of the connector.
