SHEET CONVEYANCE DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240132313 titled 'SHEET CONVEYANCE DEVICE

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a sheet conveyance device with a deformable bearing that holds a roller shaft and is urged by an urging member. The frame of the device holds the bearing in a specific position to ensure smooth operation.

  • Frame holds deformable bearing for roller shaft
  • Bearing is urged by an urging member
  • Frame positions bearing downstream of rotation center for smooth operation

Potential Applications

The technology could be applied in various industries where sheet conveyance is required, such as printing, packaging, and manufacturing.

Problems Solved

The device solves the problem of ensuring smooth and efficient sheet conveyance by utilizing a deformable bearing and an urging member to maintain proper alignment and operation.

Benefits

The benefits of this technology include improved reliability, reduced maintenance needs, and increased efficiency in sheet conveyance processes.

Potential Commercial Applications

The technology could be used in commercial printing presses, packaging lines, and manufacturing facilities to enhance the performance of sheet conveyance systems.

Possible Prior Art

One possible prior art could be similar sheet conveyance devices used in industrial settings, but without the specific design features of the deformable bearing and urging member.

What is the specific design of the deformable bearing in the device?

The specific design of the deformable bearing includes a holding portion that is capable of sliding to hold the roller shaft in place while being deformable to accommodate the urging force from the urging member.

How does the frame ensure proper positioning of the bearing for smooth operation?

The frame of the device holds the bearing in a position downstream of the rotation center of the roller shaft, ensuring that it does not come into contact with the holding portion in the critical region for smooth operation.

Original Abstract Submitted

a sheet conveyance device includes a frame, first and second rollers, a roller shaft, an urging member, and a bearing. the bearing includes a holding portion to slidably hold the roller shaft and held by the frame. the holding portion is deformable. as viewed in a rotational axis direction of the roller shaft, a direction in which the urging member urges the second roller is defined as a first direction, a direction that is perpendicular to the first direction is defined as a second direction, and a region where the roller shaft is present in the second direction is defined as a first region. the frame holds the bearing so as not to be in contact with the holding portion in the first region downstream of a rotation center of the roller shaft in the first direction.
