SOLAR CELL AND METHOD OF PRODUCING SOLAR CELL - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240057360 titled 'SOLAR CELL AND METHOD OF PRODUCING SOLAR CELL

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a solar cell with a sealed space containing a photoelectric conversion element, where the oxygen concentration is less than 10 ppm and the water vapor concentration is between 100 ppm and 5000 ppm.

  • Solar cell with sealed space for photoelectric conversion element
  • Oxygen concentration in sealed space less than 10 ppm
  • Water vapor concentration in sealed space between 100 ppm and 5000 ppm

Potential Applications

This technology can be used in:

  • Solar panels for residential and commercial buildings
  • Portable solar chargers for electronic devices
  • Solar-powered outdoor lighting systems

Problems Solved

This technology addresses the following issues:

  • Degradation of solar cell performance due to oxygen exposure
  • Moisture damage to solar cell components
  • Efficiency loss in solar cells exposed to high levels of water vapor

Benefits

The benefits of this technology include:

  • Improved long-term performance and durability of solar cells
  • Enhanced efficiency in converting sunlight into electricity
  • Extended lifespan of solar cell systems

Original Abstract Submitted

a solar cell according to the present disclosure includes a support, a photoelectric conversion element, and a sealing member. the photoelectric conversion element is in a sealed space defined by the support and the sealing member. the photoelectric conversion element includes, in this order, a first electrode, a photoelectric conversion layer, and a second electrode. an oxygen concentration in the sealed space is less than 10 ppm in terms of volume fraction, and a water vapor concentration in the sealed space is greater than or equal to 100 ppm and less than or equal to 5000 ppm in terms of volume fraction.
