CO2 Monitoring Smart Facemask Assembly - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240050036 titled 'CO2 Monitoring Smart Facemask Assembly

Simplified Explanation

The present invention is a smart facemask assembly that includes a cosensor component, connecting wires, and a controller unit. The cosensor component has a cosensor, a serial data connection, and a power connection. The controller unit is coupled to the cosensor component and includes a programmable microcontroller.

  • The programmable microcontroller receives a measure of the current CO value from the cosensor component.
  • The controller unit also includes a battery, one or more visual alarm devices, an auditory alarm device, and an alarm reset button.
  • When the current CO value exceeds a pre-defined threshold, the microcontroller activates the visual and auditory alarm devices.
  • The visual alarm devices include LEDs and a display device that shows an alpha-numeric representation of the current CO value.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Safety equipment for individuals working in environments with potential CO exposure, such as firefighters, construction workers, and industrial workers.
  • Monitoring air quality in enclosed spaces, such as homes, offices, and vehicles.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Provides real-time monitoring of CO levels, alerting users when the levels exceed a safe threshold.
  • Allows users to take immediate action to protect themselves from CO poisoning.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Enhances safety by providing early warning of high CO levels.
  • Allows users to quickly and easily monitor their environment for potential CO hazards.
  • Provides a visual and auditory alarm system for immediate notification of dangerous CO levels.

Original Abstract Submitted

an article of manufacture for providing a comonitoring smart facemask assembly according to the present invention includes a cosensor component having a cosensor, a serial data connection, and a power connection, a set of connecting wires, and a controller unit coupled to the cosensor component by the set of connecting wires. the controller unit includes a programmable microcontroller, the programmable microcontroller receives a measure of a current co value from the cosensor component, a battery, one or more visual alarm devices; and an auditory alarm device and an alarm reset button 207. the microcontroller activates the one or more visual alarm devices and the auditory alarm devices when the current covalue is greater than a pre-defined threshold. this warning will ensure safety of the user and an option to shut the alarm off, thereby after the warning has been acknowledged. the one or more visual alarm devices include one or more leds and a display device. the display device shows an alpha-numeric representation of the current covalue measured by the cosensor component.
