AUDIO SIGNAL PROCESSING SYSTEM, LOUDSPEAKER AND ELECTRONICS DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240048904 titled 'AUDIO SIGNAL PROCESSING SYSTEM, LOUDSPEAKER AND ELECTRONICS DEVICE

Simplified Explanation

The present invention is an audio signal processing system that includes a clipping threshold estimator, an audio processing unit, a loudspeaker, and an electronics device. The clipping threshold estimator receives an input audio signal and outputs at least one clipping threshold. The audio processing unit receives the input audio signal and processes it to control the non-linear distortion added to the signal based on the clipping threshold. The output audio signal is then sent to a loudspeaker driver.

  • The audio signal processing system includes a clipping threshold estimator that determines the clipping threshold for the input audio signal.
  • The audio processing unit processes the input audio signal to control the non-linear distortion based on the clipping threshold.
  • The output audio signal is sent to a loudspeaker driver for playback.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Audio systems in home entertainment setups.
  • Professional audio equipment for recording studios.
  • Automotive audio systems.
  • Portable speakers and headphones.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Reduces non-linear distortion in audio signals.
  • Improves audio quality and fidelity.
  • Prevents clipping and distortion in loudspeaker output.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Enhanced audio listening experience.
  • Improved accuracy and clarity of audio reproduction.
  • Protection of loudspeakers from damage due to clipping.
  • More precise control over audio signal processing.

Original Abstract Submitted

the present invention discloses an audio signal processing system, a loudspeaker and an electronics device. the audio signal processing system having a clipping threshold estimator, which receives an input audio signal and outputs at least one clipping threshold; and an audio processing unit, which receives the input audio signal, processes the input audio signal to control the non-linear distortion added to the input audio signal based on the clipping threshold and outputs an output audio signal to a loudspeaker driver, wherein the clipping threshold estimator includes: an extraction unit which extracts a set of features from the input audio signal; and a regression or classification unit which receives the set of features and converts the set of features into the at least one clipping threshold by using a regression or classification processing.
