METHOD OF PRODUCING MODELED OBJECT AND MODELED OBJECT - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240025109 titled 'METHOD OF PRODUCING MODELED OBJECT AND MODELED OBJECT
Simplified Explanation
The present invention is a method of producing a modeled object using a 3D printer that utilizes material extrusion. The 3D printer includes a modeling stage with a placement surface for the modeled object. The method involves forming at least one first modeling layer on a modeling sheet placed on the placement surface, using a molten product of a first modeling layer material. Then, at least one second modeling layer is formed on the first modeling layer, using a molten product of a second modeling layer material. It is important to note that the first modeling layer material is different from the second modeling layer material.
- The method involves using a 3D printer with a modeling stage and a placement surface.
- A modeling sheet is used to place the modeled object on the placement surface.
- At least one first modeling layer is formed on the modeling sheet using a molten product of a first modeling layer material.
- At least one second modeling layer is formed on top of the first modeling layer using a molten product of a second modeling layer material.
- The first modeling layer material is different from the second modeling layer material.
Potential applications of this technology:
- Rapid prototyping in various industries such as automotive, aerospace, and consumer goods.
- Customized manufacturing of products with complex geometries.
- Medical applications such as creating patient-specific implants or prosthetics.
- Architectural modeling and design.
Problems solved by this technology:
- Enables the production of complex objects with intricate details that are difficult to achieve using traditional manufacturing methods.
- Reduces the time and cost associated with prototyping and small-scale production.
- Allows for customization and personalization of products.
- Facilitates the production of objects with varying material properties within a single print.
Benefits of this technology:
- Increased design freedom and flexibility in manufacturing.
- Faster production and reduced lead times.
- Cost-effective prototyping and small-scale production.
- Reduced material waste compared to traditional manufacturing methods.
- Enables the creation of complex and customized objects.
Original Abstract Submitted
the present invention provides a method of producing a modeled object by material extrusion using a 3d printer, the 3d printer including a modeling stage having a placement surface for placing the modeled object thereon, the method including: forming at least one first modeling layer on a surface of a modeling sheet disposed on the placement surface, using a molten product of a first modeling layer material; and forming at least one second modeling layer on the at least one first modeling layer, using a molten product of a second modeling layer material, wherein the first modeling layer material is different from the second modeling layer material.
