RECIPROCATING AQUAPONIC DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240023499 titled 'RECIPROCATING AQUAPONIC DEVICE

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a reciprocating aquaponic device that includes a housing, a bell-shaped siphon, and a water pump. The housing has a water inlet space, a tidal space, and a planting space that are all connected. The housing also has a mounting wall and an inclined wall. The bell-shaped siphon is positioned on the mounting wall and is used to move water from the water inlet space to the tidal space. The water pump is located in the fish tank and draws water into the water inlet space.

  • The device includes a housing with different compartments for water inlet, tidal, and planting spaces.
  • A bell-shaped siphon is used to transfer water from the water inlet space to the tidal space.
  • A water pump is placed in the fish tank to draw water into the device.
  • The inclined wall helps direct water flow from the tidal space to the planting space.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Aquaponics systems for home or commercial use.
  • Sustainable agriculture practices.
  • Urban farming in limited spaces.
  • Research and educational purposes.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Efficient water circulation in aquaponic systems.
  • Simplified design for aquaponic devices.
  • Improved plant growth and fish health in aquaponic systems.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Increased crop yields and fish production.
  • Water conservation and reduced water usage.
  • Integration of fish and plant cultivation in a closed-loop system.
  • Scalability for different sizes and applications.

Original Abstract Submitted

a reciprocating aquaponic device includes a housing, a bell-shaped siphon, and a water pump. the housing defines a water inlet space, and a tidal space and a planting space in fluid communication with the water inlet space. the housing includes a mounting wall over the tidal space, and an inclined wall under the tidal space. the inclined wall is inclined downward toward the planting space. the bell-shaped siphon is dispose on the mounting wall and is disposed for moving water from the water inlet space through the siphon opening and into the tidal space. the water pump is disposed in the fish tank for drawing water from the fish tank into the water inlet space.
