NON-FUNGIBLE TOKENS FOR VIRTUAL ACCESSORIES DURING VIRTUAL MEETINGS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240022408 titled 'NON-FUNGIBLE TOKENS FOR VIRTUAL ACCESSORIES DURING VIRTUAL MEETINGS

Simplified Explanation

Systems and methods for providing non-fungible tokens (NFTs) for virtual accessories during virtual meetings are disclosed. The system includes a computer-readable medium, a communications interface, and a processor. The processor is configured to execute instructions stored in the computer-readable medium to perform various functions.

  • The system receives a request from a client device to register a virtual accessory.
  • The system determines a unique NFT associated with the virtual accessory.
  • The system registers the NFT and the virtual accessory within a NFT registry.
  • The system transmits the NFT associated with the virtual accessory back to the client device.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Virtual meetings and conferences: Users can enhance their virtual presence by registering and displaying virtual accessories using NFTs.
  • Virtual reality experiences: NFTs can be used to provide unique virtual accessories in immersive virtual reality environments.
  • Online gaming: Players can acquire and trade virtual accessories using NFTs, adding value and uniqueness to their in-game avatars.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Lack of personalization in virtual meetings: This technology allows users to express their individuality and style by registering and displaying virtual accessories.
  • Counterfeit virtual items: NFTs provide a secure and verifiable way to authenticate and track ownership of virtual accessories, reducing the risk of counterfeit items.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Enhanced user experience: Users can customize their virtual presence and express their personality through unique virtual accessories.
  • Increased security and authenticity: NFTs provide a secure and transparent way to verify the ownership and authenticity of virtual accessories.
  • Potential for monetization: NFTs can have intrinsic value, allowing users to buy, sell, and trade virtual accessories, creating new opportunities for creators and collectors.

Original Abstract Submitted

systems and methods for providing non-fungible tokens (nfts) for virtual accessories during virtual meetings are provided. for example, a system may include a non-transitory computer-readable medium; a communications interface; and a processor communicatively coupled to the non-transitory computer-readable medium and the communications interface. the processor may be configured to execute processor-executable instructions stored in the non-transitory computer-readable medium to: receive, from a first client device, a request to register a virtual accessory; determine a nft associated with the virtual accessory; register the nft and the virtual accessory within a nft registry; and transmit the nft associated with the virtual accessory to the first client device.
