CLAMP ASSEMBLY - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240017380 titled 'CLAMP ASSEMBLY

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a clamp assembly that can secure a movable object relative to a fixed object. The assembly allows the movable object to be positioned selectively in relation to an adjacent fixed object, within a defined space.

  • The clamp assembly consists of a frame with a slot for the movable object and a jack portion for the adjacent fixed object.
  • The jack portion includes a threaded support rod and a threaded fastener that mate together.
  • The support rod has an engagement surface that applies a selective amount of force against the fixed object.
  • The force applied by the engagement surface creates an opposing force against the movable object within the slot.
  • The amount of force applied can be adjusted by mating the support rod and the threaded fastener to different extents.
  • This allows the user to position the movable object at a desired distance from the adjacent fixed object.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Securing furniture or equipment in place within a limited space.
  • Positioning shelves or racks at specific distances from walls or other fixed objects.
  • Holding objects in place during transportation or assembly processes.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Provides a simple and adjustable solution for securing movable objects in relation to fixed objects.
  • Allows for precise positioning of objects within limited spaces.
  • Eliminates the need for complex and permanent mounting systems.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Versatile and adaptable to different objects and spaces.
  • Easy to install and adjust.
  • Provides stability and prevents movement or displacement of objects.
  • Cost-effective alternative to custom mounting solutions.

Original Abstract Submitted

a clamp assembly for selectively securing a movable object relative to a fixed object is provided. the clamp assembly enables a movable object to be selectively disposing relative to an adjacent fixed object, within a space defined in part by the adjacent fixed object and another fixed object. the clamp assembly has a frame providing a slot for the movable object and a jack portion for the adjacent fixed object. the jack portion has a threaded support rod mated with a threaded fastener. the support rod ends in an engagement surface that applies a selective amount of force against the fixed object, and thus applies an opposing force against the movable object within the slot, depending on the selective amount of mating of the support rod and the threaded fastener. thereby, a user may position the movable object in a spaced apart relationship with the adjacent fixed object.
