COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS USING A COMBINATION OF OLEUROPEIN AND NICOTINAMIDE RIBOSIDE FOR CELLULAR ENERGY - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240009219 titled 'COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS USING A COMBINATION OF OLEUROPEIN AND NICOTINAMIDE RIBOSIDE FOR CELLULAR ENERGY

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a composition that combines oleuropein or its metabolite with nicotinamide riboside. This composition can be in the form of an oral nutritional supplement, a food product, or a food for special medical purposes. It can be administered to individuals to improve physiological states or disorders related to NAD deficiency, metabolic fatigue, mitochondrial energy and calcium uptake, antioxidant capacity, oxidative stress, and mitochondrial function. It can also be used to treat or prevent NAD deficiency disorders, improve healthspan, and treat mitochondria-related diseases or conditions associated with altered mitochondrial function.

  • The composition combines oleuropein or its metabolite with nicotinamide riboside.
  • It can be in the form of an oral nutritional supplement, a food product, or a food for special medical purposes.
  • It can improve physiological states or disorders related to NAD deficiency, metabolic fatigue, mitochondrial energy and calcium uptake, antioxidant capacity, oxidative stress, and mitochondrial function.
  • It can treat or prevent NAD deficiency disorders and improve healthspan.
  • It can also treat mitochondria-related diseases or conditions associated with altered mitochondrial function.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Nutritional supplements for individuals with NAD deficiency or metabolic fatigue.
  • Food products or supplements for improving mitochondrial energy and calcium uptake.
  • Therapeutic interventions for individuals with mitochondria-related diseases or conditions.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • NAD deficiency and related disorders.
  • Metabolic fatigue.
  • Altered mitochondrial function and associated diseases or conditions.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Improved physiological states and disorders related to NAD deficiency and metabolic fatigue.
  • Increased mitochondrial energy and calcium uptake.
  • Enhanced antioxidant capacity and reduced oxidative stress.
  • Improved mitochondrial function.
  • Treatment and prevention of NAD deficiency disorders.
  • Improved healthspan.

Original Abstract Submitted

composition comprising a combination of oleuropein or metabolite thereof and nicotinamide riboside thereof are provided. the composition may be an oral nutritional composition, for example a nutritional supplement, an oral nutritional supplement, a food product, a food for special medical purpose (fsmp). the composition can be administered to an individual in need thereof for (i) improving a physiological state or disorder related to nad deficiency/restriction in one or more cells, (ii) improving a physiological state linked to metabolic fatigue in one or more cells, (iii) increasing mitochondrial energy and mitochondrial calcium uptake in one or more cells, and (iv) increasing antioxidant capacity, reducing oxidative stress and/or enhancing mitochondrial function, (v) treating or preventing a nad deficiency/depletion disorder in an individual, (vi) improving healthspan. additionally, or alternatively, the method can treat or prevent a mitochondria-related disease or a condition associated with altered mitochondrial function in an individual in need thereof or at risk thereof.
