PROCESSING SYSTEM, AND INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS AND METHOD - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18552189 titled 'PROCESSING SYSTEM, AND INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS AND METHOD

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a processing system that manages media processing tasks across multiple servers, including transitioning tasks from one server to another.

  • Task management unit manages multiple media processing tasks in one or more servers.
  • Acquires capabilities of possible transition destinations when a task transitions to a different server.
  • Capabilities include presence or absence of persistent storage for task data and location information of the storage.
  • Technology can be applied to media processing systems using a 5G network.

Potential Applications

  • Media processing systems
  • Cloud computing environments
  • Edge computing platforms

Problems Solved

  • Efficient task management across multiple servers
  • Seamless transition of tasks between servers
  • Reliable storage of task data without depending on execution state

Benefits

  • Improved performance and scalability of media processing tasks
  • Enhanced reliability and fault tolerance in task transitions
  • Optimal utilization of server resources

Original Abstract Submitted

A processing system includes a task management unit that manages a plurality of media processing tasks executed in one or a plurality of servers, in which the task management unit acquires capabilities of a plurality of servers that are possible transition destinations in a case where a media processing task executed in a first server that is one of the plurality of servers is caused to transition to a second server different from the first server, and the capabilities include presence or absence of a persistent storage capable of storing data of the media processing task without depending on an execution state of the media processing task, and location information of the persistent storage. The technology of the present disclosure can be applied to, for example, a media processing system that performs media processing using a 5G network, and the like.
