TECHNIQUES FOR EXCLUDING SIGNAL MEASUREMENTS FROM A MEASUREMENT REPORT - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18547766 titled 'TECHNIQUES FOR EXCLUDING SIGNAL MEASUREMENTS FROM A MEASUREMENT REPORT

Simplified Explanation

The present disclosure relates to wireless communication technology where a user equipment (UE) can receive signals from different radio access technologies (RATs) and make decisions based on signal measurements.

  • User equipment (UE) can receive signals from multiple radio access technologies (RATs).
  • The UE can analyze signal measurements from different RATs to determine conditions for reporting to base stations.
  • Based on the conditions being satisfied, the UE can transmit a measurement report to a specific base station excluding certain signal measurements.

Potential Applications

This technology can be applied in:

  • Multi-RAT communication systems
  • Handover optimization in heterogeneous networks

Problems Solved

This technology helps in:

  • Efficient utilization of network resources
  • Seamless connectivity in diverse network environments

Benefits

The benefits of this technology include:

  • Enhanced user experience with improved network performance
  • Optimal utilization of available network resources

Potential Commercial Applications

Potential commercial applications of this technology include:

  • Telecommunication companies for improving network efficiency
  • IoT devices for seamless connectivity in different network environments

Possible Prior Art

One possible prior art could be:

  • Handover optimization techniques in heterogeneous networks

What are the specific conditions for reporting signal measurements in this technology?

The specific conditions for reporting signal measurements in this technology are based on the satisfaction of certain criteria related to signal quality and network conditions.

How does this technology contribute to improving network efficiency in multi-RAT communication systems?

This technology contributes to improving network efficiency in multi-RAT communication systems by enabling intelligent decision-making based on signal measurements from different RATs, leading to optimized handover processes and resource allocation.

Original Abstract Submitted

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a first signal associated with a first radio access technology (RAT) and a second signal associated with a second RAT. The UE may determine that first signal measurements associated with the first signal satisfy a first condition and second signal measurements associated with the second signal satisfy a second condition. The UE may transmit, to a first base station associated with the first RAT, a measurement report that excludes the first signal measurements and the second signal measurements based at least in part on the first condition and the second condition being satisfied. Numerous other aspects are described.
