TIME REVERSAL PRECODING FOR SIDELINK BASED POSITIONING - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18547290 titled 'TIME REVERSAL PRECODING FOR SIDELINK BASED POSITIONING

Simplified Explanation

- User equipment (UE) uses time reversal (TR) precoding based on estimated channel between two UEs - UE sends TR-precoded sidelink (SL) positioning reference signal (PRS) to second UE - Estimated channel based on channel state information (CSI) from wideband (WB) reference signal (RS) - TR precoder based on transmissions on SL communication channel between UEs

Potential Applications

- Wireless communication systems - Positioning systems - Internet of Things (IoT) devices

Problems Solved

- Improving communication reliability between UEs - Enhancing positioning accuracy in wireless networks

Benefits

- Increased signal strength and quality - Better interference mitigation - Improved overall network performance

Original Abstract Submitted

Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) derives a time reversal (TR) precoder based at least in part on an estimated channel between the first UE and a second UE, and sends, to the second UE, a TR-precoded sidelink (SL) positioning reference signal (PRS). The estimated channel may be based on channel state information (CSI) associated with a wideband (WB) reference signal (RS). The TR precoder may be based on transmissions or receptions on a SL communication channel between the first UE and the second UE.
