REPORTING MECHANISM FOR SLICE INFORMATION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18547254 titled 'REPORTING MECHANISM FOR SLICE INFORMATION

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a method, network node, and wireless device for reporting mechanisms for slice information.

  • Network node is configured to communicate with a wireless device.
  • Processing circuitry in the network node allocates resources to slices and determines the slice associated with a random access message received from the wireless device.
  • The slice is determined based on the resource on which the random access message is received.

Original Abstract Submitted

A method, network node, and wireless device, WD, for reporting mechanisms for slice information are described. According to one aspect, a network node configured to communicate with a WD is described. The network node includes processing circuitry configured to allocate (S) at least one resource of a plurality of resources to at least one slice of a plurality of slices; and determine (S), from a random access, RA, message received from the WD, the at least one slice associated with the RA message based at least in part on the at least one resource on which the RA message is received.
