SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SIDELINK RESOURCE RESERVATION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18546314 titled 'SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SIDELINK RESOURCE RESERVATION

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a wireless communication method for dynamically adapting resource reservation of a sidelink channel using semi-persistent scheduling. The method involves receiving data for transmission, notifying other user equipment of scheduling reservations, and managing wireless resource reservations in a shared resource pool.

  • Explanation of the patent/innovation:

- Receiving data for transmission via semi-persistent scheduling mode - Notifying other user equipment of scheduling reservations - Managing wireless resource reservations in a shared resource pool - Dynamically adapting resource reservation of a sidelink channel

Potential applications of this technology: - Enhanced communication reliability in wireless networks - Efficient resource allocation in shared wireless environments

Problems solved by this technology: - Resource contention in wireless communication - Scheduling conflicts in shared resource pools

Benefits of this technology: - Improved data transmission efficiency - Enhanced network performance and reliability

Potential commercial applications of this technology: - IoT devices communication - Vehicle-to-vehicle communication systems

Possible prior art: - Prior art in semi-persistent scheduling methods in wireless communication systems

Unanswered questions: 1. How does this method handle interference in shared resource pools? 2. What impact does this dynamic resource reservation have on network latency and throughput?

Original Abstract Submitted

A wireless communication method for dynamically adapting resource reservation of a sidelink channel using semi-persistent scheduling. The method includes receiving, at a first item of user equipment, a first and a second item of data for transmission via a semi persistent scheduling mode, and a status indication of a shared wireless resource pool of the first item of user equipment and one or more second items of user equipment; notifying, by the first item of user equipment, an initial semi persistent scheduling reservation for the first item of data to the one or more second items of user equipment via the shared resource pool; notifying, by the first item of user equipment, one or more second items of user equipment of a reservation of a wireless resource defined in the shared wireless resource pool according to a declaration comprised in a further semi-persistent scheduling reservation of the sidelink channel.
