RESOURCE SET PROCESSING PRIORITIZATION DETERMINATION BASED ON RESOURCE INDEX INFORMATION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18546250 titled 'RESOURCE SET PROCESSING PRIORITIZATION DETERMINATION BASED ON RESOURCE INDEX INFORMATION

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a system for prioritizing positioning reference signals (PRS) by receiving beam index information associated with a PRS beam set. The system determines an assigned beam and at least one adjacent beam based on the beam index information, and calculates a location measurement using these beams.

  • The system facilitates PRS prioritization by receiving beam index information.
  • An assigned beam and adjacent beams are determined based on the received information.
  • Location measurements are calculated using the assigned and adjacent beams.

Potential Applications

This technology could be applied in:

  • Wireless communication systems
  • Location-based services
  • Internet of Things (IoT) devices

Problems Solved

This technology helps in:

  • Improving accuracy of location measurements
  • Enhancing signal prioritization in communication systems

Benefits

The benefits of this technology include:

  • Increased efficiency in signal processing
  • Enhanced performance of positioning systems

Potential Commercial Applications

A potential commercial application for this technology could be in:

  • Telecommunications industry for improving network performance

Possible Prior Art

One possible prior art for this technology could be:

  • Existing systems for beamforming in wireless communication networks

Unanswered Questions

How does this technology handle interference in crowded network environments?

The patent application does not specify how the system mitigates interference from other signals in dense network settings.

What is the impact of weather conditions on the accuracy of location measurements using this technology?

The patent application does not address how weather factors may affect the performance of the system in determining location measurements.

Original Abstract Submitted

Disclosed are systems, apparatuses, methods, and non-transitory media for facilitating positioning reference signal (PRS) prioritization by receiving beam index information associated with a PRS beam set. In some aspects, an assigned beam can be determined based on the beam index information. At least one adjacent beam can further be determined to be based on the assigned beam associated with the beam index information. A location measurement can also be determined based on at least one of the assigned beam, or the at least one adjacent beam.
