IMAGING SUPPORT DEVICE, IMAGING SUPPORT SYSTEM, IMAGING SYSTEM, IMAGING SUPPORT METHOD, AND PROGRAM - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18539310 titled 'IMAGING SUPPORT DEVICE, IMAGING SUPPORT SYSTEM, IMAGING SYSTEM, IMAGING SUPPORT METHOD, AND PROGRAM
Simplified Explanation
The imaging support method described in the abstract involves adjusting the position of a subject image within a captured image based on the focal length of the imaging apparatus. This adjustment is achieved by controlling the movement of the lens and the image region to ensure the subject image is placed at a specific position in the captured image.
- Acquiring focal length of imaging apparatus
- Detecting subject image position of target subject image
- Performing registration control to set subject image position to specific position in captured image
- Adjusting ratio of image region movement component and lens moving mechanism based on focal length threshold
Potential Applications
This technology could be applied in various fields such as photography, surveillance systems, medical imaging, and autonomous vehicles.
Problems Solved
This technology solves the problem of accurately positioning a subject image within a captured image, especially when using imaging apparatus with different focal lengths.
Benefits
- Improved image quality - Enhanced accuracy in subject positioning - Increased efficiency in image capturing process
Potential Commercial Applications
"Optimizing Subject Image Positioning in Captured Images for Enhanced Image Quality"
Possible Prior Art
There may be prior art related to image registration techniques in photography and computer vision research.
Unanswered Questions
How does this method impact the overall performance of the imaging apparatus?
The abstract does not provide information on how the adjustment of the subject image position affects the overall performance of the imaging apparatus.
Are there any limitations to the application of this method in different imaging scenarios?
It is unclear from the abstract whether this method is suitable for all types of imaging scenarios or if there are limitations to its application.
Original Abstract Submitted
An imaging support method includes acquiring a focal length of an imaging apparatus, detecting a subject image position of a target subject image showing a target subject in a captured image obtained by capturing an imaging region including the target subject by the imaging apparatus, and performing registration control for setting the detected subject image position to a specific position in the captured image by increasing a ratio of application of an image region movement component compared to a lens moving mechanism in a case where the acquired focal length is greater than or equal to a threshold value, and increasing a ratio of application of the lens moving mechanism compared to the image region movement component in a case where the focal length is less than the threshold value.
