ESTIMATION DEVICE, ESTIMATION SYSTEM, ESTIMATION METHOD, AND PROGRAM RECORDING MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18517060 titled 'ESTIMATION DEVICE, ESTIMATION SYSTEM, ESTIMATION METHOD, AND PROGRAM RECORDING MEDIUM
Simplified Explanation
The patent application describes a device that estimates the type of footwear worn by a pedestrian based on sensor data acquired from the footwear.
- An extraction unit acquires sensor data from a sensor on the footwear to extract a walking feature quantity characteristic of walking in the footwear.
- An estimation unit then estimates the type of footwear based on the walking feature quantity extracted by the extraction unit.
Potential Applications
This technology could be used in the retail industry to provide personalized recommendations for footwear based on walking patterns. It could also be utilized in the healthcare sector to monitor and analyze the impact of different types of footwear on gait and overall foot health.
Problems Solved
This technology solves the problem of accurately determining the type of footwear worn by a pedestrian without direct observation. It also addresses the issue of providing tailored recommendations for footwear based on individual walking patterns.
Benefits
The device offers a non-intrusive way to gather data on footwear preferences and walking habits. It can help improve customer satisfaction by offering personalized recommendations for footwear choices.
Potential Commercial Applications
Enhancing Retail Footwear Recommendations with Sensor Data Analysis
Original Abstract Submitted
In order to estimate the type of footwear worn by a pedestrian, an estimation device and the like according to the present invention are provided with: an extraction unit which acquires sensor data from a sensor installed on the footwear, and uses the sensor data to extract a walking feature quantity characteristic of walking in footwear; and an estimation unit which estimates the type of footwear on the basis of the walking feature quantity extracted by the extraction unit.
