TELECOMMUNICATIONS NETWORK PLANNING SYSTEM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18510532 titled 'TELECOMMUNICATIONS NETWORK PLANNING SYSTEM

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes systems and methods for identifying growth classifications for geographic areas to help network providers determine planning opportunities available. The system computes values for growth criteria related to planning, usability, customer experience, sales, population, etc., and classifies the area as invest, grow, defend, or fix based on these values. Actionable insights can then be provided to improve network coverage and customer experience.

  • The system computes values for growth criteria related to planning, usability, customer experience, sales, population, etc.
  • Based on the growth criteria values, the system classifies the area as invest, grow, defend, or fix.
  • Actionable insights are provided to drive improvement in network coverage and customer experience.

Potential Applications

The technology can be applied in telecommunications, urban planning, infrastructure development, and market analysis.

Problems Solved

The technology helps network providers identify areas for investment, growth, defense, or improvement, leading to more targeted and effective planning strategies.

Benefits

The system provides a systematic approach to analyzing geographic areas for network planning, leading to improved network coverage, customer experience, and overall performance.

Potential Commercial Applications

The technology can be utilized by telecommunications companies, city planners, real estate developers, and market researchers to optimize resource allocation and decision-making processes.

Possible Prior Art

Prior art may include similar systems used in market analysis, urban planning, and network optimization, but the specific classification method based on growth criteria may be novel.

Unanswered Questions

== How does the system determine the specific growth criteria values for each geographic area? The patent application does not provide detailed information on the specific algorithms or methodologies used to compute the growth criteria values for different geographic areas.

== What are the potential limitations or challenges in implementing this system on a large scale? The patent application does not address the scalability or potential obstacles that may arise when implementing this system across a wide range of geographic areas or network infrastructures.

Original Abstract Submitted

Systems and methods to identify a growth classification/categorization for a geographic area that helps a network provider to solve for what types of planning opportunities are available at various area granularities is disclosed. The system computes values for a set of growth criteria for a geographic area. The growth criteria are related to planning, usability, customer experience, sales, population, and so on. Based on the growth-criteria values, the system identifies a classification/categorization for the area. For example, the system classifies an area as an invest area (e.g., requiring engineering action), a grow area (e.g., requiring sales action/being sales ready), a defend area (e.g., requiring engineering and sales actions to continue current trend), or a fix area (e.g., likely requiring both engineering and sales actions to improve current trend). Based on the area classification, the system can then provide actionable insights to drive improvement in network coverage and customer experience.
