METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REPORTING UE CAPABILITIES USING MANUFACTURER-SPECIFIC IDENTIFIER OF UE CAPABILITY IN NEXT MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18503061 titled 'METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REPORTING UE CAPABILITIES USING MANUFACTURER-SPECIFIC IDENTIFIER OF UE CAPABILITY IN NEXT MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS
Simplified Explanation
The patent application describes a communication technique for the convergence of the 5G communication system with IoT technologies to support higher data transmission rates compared to the 4G system.
- The method involves using an identifier of the User Equipment (UE) to substitute reporting UE capabilities, instead of reporting the overall UE capabilities.
- This allows for a more efficient method of reporting UE's own capability without transmitting redundant information.
Potential applications of this technology:
- Intelligent services based on 5G communication and IoT technologies such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, health care, digital education, retail services, security, and safety-associated services.
Problems solved by this technology:
- Efficient reporting of UE capabilities without transmitting redundant information.
- Convergence of 5G communication system with IoT technologies for higher data transmission rates.
Benefits of this technology:
- Improved efficiency in reporting UE capabilities.
- Enhanced data transmission rates with the convergence of 5G and IoT technologies.
Original Abstract Submitted
A communication technique for convergence of the 5G communication system for supporting higher data transmission rate after the 4G system with IoT technologies and a system thereof. Certain embodiments may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technologies and the IoT-associated technologies (for example, smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car or connected car, health care, digital education, retail services, security and safe-associated services, etc.). A method and an apparatus which can substitute reporting UE capabilities by use of an identifier of the UE, without reporting the overall UE capabilities in a method of reporting UE's own capability.
