Obtaining a plurality of pieces of positioning data of a group of location points, a plurality of pieces of positioning quality reference information, and location information of a map element in a map (S); determining a target geographic range and a plurality of location points in the target geographic range based on the plurality of pieces of positioning data, the plurality of pieces of positioning quality reference information, and the location information of the map element, where the plurality of location points in the target geographic range are some or all of location points in the group of location points; generating positioning quality indication information based on positioning quality reference information of the plurality of location points in the target geographic range, to indicate a statistical value of positioning quality in the target geographic range (S); and adding the positioning quality indication information to the map (S).
