DEVICE, METHOD, AND GRAPHICAL USER INTERFACE FOR NAVIGATING MEDIA CONTENT - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18491422 titled 'DEVICE, METHOD, AND GRAPHICAL USER INTERFACE FOR NAVIGATING MEDIA CONTENT

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes an electronic device that can display a first media with a visual motion effect while in a screensaver mode. The device can receive user input from a remote user input device and determine the type of input received. If the input is of a first type, the device will display the first media with the visual motion effect and corresponding descriptive text. If the input is of a second type, the device will exit the screensaver mode.

  • The device can display a first media with a visual motion effect in screensaver mode.
  • It can receive user input from a remote user input device.
  • The type of user input is determined.
  • If the input is of a first type, the device displays the first media with the visual motion effect and descriptive text.
  • If the input is of a second type, the device exits the screensaver mode.

Potential Applications:

  • Entertainment devices such as televisions or media players can use this technology to enhance their screensaver mode by displaying visually appealing media with motion effects.
  • Advertising displays can utilize this technology to attract attention by presenting visually engaging content with motion effects.

Problems Solved:

  • Traditional screensavers can be static and uninteresting. This technology solves the problem by providing visually appealing media with motion effects, making screensavers more engaging.

Benefits:

  • Users can enjoy visually appealing screensavers with motion effects, providing a more enjoyable and immersive experience.
  • Advertisers can capture the attention of viewers by presenting visually engaging content with motion effects, increasing the effectiveness of their advertising campaigns.

Original Abstract Submitted

An electronic device provides, to a display, while in a screensaver mode, data to present a first media, that includes a first visual motion effect. In response to receiving a user input on a remote user input device, a type of the user input on the remote user input device is determined. If the user input is of a first type, the device provides, to the display, data to present the first media, that includes the first visual motion effect, with corresponding descriptive text. If the user input is of a second type, the device exits the screensaver mode.
