Cancellation and Replacement of PUSCH - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18487691 titled 'Cancellation and Replacement of PUSCH

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes apparatuses, systems, and methods for cancellation and/or replacement of Physical Uplink Shared Channels (PUSCHs) in a user equipment device (UE). The UE can configure a first PUSCH and a second PUSCH, where the first PUSCH corresponds to a configured grant and the second PUSCH corresponds to a configured grant or is scheduled by a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) on a serving cell.

The UE determines if there is any overlap in time between transmission occasions associated with the first PUSCH and the second PUSCH. If there is an overlap, the UE drops transmissions scheduled for the second PUSCH based on the priority of the first PUSCH being higher than the priority of the second PUSCH. This dropping of transmissions starts with the first symbol of a repetition of the second PUSCH that overlaps in time with one or more repetitions of the first PUSCH.

  • The patent application is about cancellation and replacement of Physical Uplink Shared Channels (PUSCHs) in a user equipment device (UE).
  • The UE can configure a first PUSCH and a second PUSCH.
  • The first PUSCH corresponds to a configured grant, while the second PUSCH corresponds to a configured grant or is scheduled by a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) on a serving cell.
  • The UE determines if there is any overlap in time between transmission occasions associated with the first PUSCH and the second PUSCH.
  • If there is an overlap, the UE drops transmissions scheduled for the second PUSCH.
  • The dropping of transmissions starts with the first symbol of a repetition of the second PUSCH that overlaps in time with one or more repetitions of the first PUSCH.

Potential Applications

  • Wireless communication systems

  • Prioritization of PUSCH transmissions to avoid interference and maximize system performance

Benefits

  • Improved reliability and efficiency of PUSCH transmissions
  • Enhanced capacity and throughput in cellular networks
  • Better utilization of available resources in wireless communication systems

Original Abstract Submitted

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for cancellation and/or replacement of PUSCHs. A user equipment device (UE) may configure a first PUSCH and a second PUSCH, where the first PUSCH may correspond to a configured grant and where the second PUSCH may correspond to a configured grant or scheduled by a PDCCH on a serving cell. The UE may determine that at least one transmission occasion associated with the first PUSCH overlaps in time with at least one transmission occasion associated with the second PUSCH. The UE may drop transmissions scheduled for the second PUSCH, e.g., based on determining that a priority of the first PUSCH is higher than a priority of the second PUSCH, e.g., starting with a first symbol of a repetition of the second PUSCH which overlaps in time with one or more repetitions of the first PUSCH.
