BATTERY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND BATTERY MANAGEMENT METHOD - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18480436 titled 'BATTERY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND BATTERY MANAGEMENT METHOD

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a battery management system that includes a battery module accommodation section, a charging and discharging control section, and a shipping target selection section. The system is designed to manage the charging, discharging, and shipping of battery modules in blocks.

  • The battery module accommodation section is configured to separately accommodate multiple battery modules in blocks, with each block containing a predetermined number of modules (at least 2).
  • The charging and discharging control section operates at the block level, charging and discharging the battery modules in units of blocks.
  • The shipping target selection section selects battery modules as shipping targets from those accommodated in the battery module accommodation section, also at the block level.

Potential Applications

The technology could be applied in electric vehicles, renewable energy storage systems, and portable electronic devices.

Problems Solved

1. Efficient management of battery modules in blocks. 2. Streamlined charging, discharging, and shipping processes.

Benefits

1. Improved battery management efficiency. 2. Enhanced safety in handling battery modules. 3. Simplified logistics for shipping battery modules.

Potential Commercial Applications

"Optimizing Battery Module Management System for Various Industries"

Possible Prior Art

No known prior art at this time.

Unanswered Questions

How does the system handle different types of battery modules within the blocks?

The patent application does not specify how the system manages varying battery module types within the blocks. Further details on this aspect would be beneficial for a comprehensive understanding of the technology.

What safety measures are in place to prevent damage during the charging and discharging processes?

The patent application does not elaborate on the safety features incorporated into the system to ensure the protection of battery modules during charging and discharging. Additional information on this topic would be valuable for assessing the technology's reliability.

Original Abstract Submitted

A battery management system includes: a battery module accommodation section; a charging and discharging control section; and a shipping target selection section. The battery module accommodation section is configured to separately accommodate a plurality of battery modules in blocks. The blocks each includes a predetermined number of the battery modules. The predetermined number is greater than or equal to 2. The charging and discharging control section is configured to charge and discharge the battery modules in units of the blocks. The battery modules are accommodated in the battery module accommodation section. The shipping target selection section is configured to select, in units of the blocks, the battery modules serving as shipping targets from the battery modules accommodated in the battery module accommodation section.
