CONVEYOR WAREWASHER AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A CONVEYOR WAREWASHER - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18475352 titled 'CONVEYOR WAREWASHER AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A CONVEYOR WAREWASHER

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a conveyor warewasher system with a camera system that captures images of washware items on the conveyor for analysis. An evaluation device then determines if the items are being transported incorrectly oriented or misaligned by the conveyor.

  • Conveyor warewasher system with camera system for capturing images of washware items
  • Evaluation device analyzes images to determine if items are being transported incorrectly oriented or misaligned

Potential Applications

The technology can be applied in industrial settings where conveyor warewashers are used, such as restaurants, hotels, and catering facilities.

Problems Solved

1. Ensures proper orientation and alignment of washware items during the washing process 2. Helps in identifying and correcting any issues with the conveyor system that may lead to improper transportation of items

Benefits

1. Improves efficiency and effectiveness of the warewashing process 2. Reduces the risk of damage to washware items due to incorrect orientation or misalignment 3. Enhances overall cleanliness and hygiene standards in commercial kitchens

Potential Commercial Applications

Optimizing Conveyor Warewasher Systems for Efficient Washware Transportation

Possible Prior Art

There may be existing systems that use cameras for monitoring conveyor systems in industrial settings, but specific applications in conveyor warewashers may be less common.

Unanswered Questions

How does the evaluation device determine if washware items are incorrectly oriented or misaligned based on the captured images?

The evaluation device likely uses image processing algorithms to analyze the position, orientation, and alignment of the washware items in the images and compares them to predetermined criteria for correct transportation.

What measures are in place to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the evaluation device's determinations?

The system may include calibration procedures to ensure the accuracy of the evaluation device's analysis, as well as regular maintenance and monitoring to address any potential issues that may affect the reliability of the determinations.

Original Abstract Submitted

A conveyor warewasher includes at least one washing zone, at least one rinsing zone and a conveyor apparatus. A camera system is configured in order to capture at least one image of an portion of the conveyor apparatus continuously or at predetermined or determinable times and/or events. An image processing device is associated with the camera system and is configured to determine a position, orientation and/or alignment of washware items present in the at least one captured image. An evaluation device is further provided that is adapted to determine based on the determined position, orientation, and/or alignment of the washware items whether, at the time of the image capture, washware items are present in the portion of the conveyor apparatus () that: i) are transported incorrectly oriented by the conveyor apparatus (); and/or ii) are transported misaligned by the conveyor apparatus.
