TRI-STATE HYBRID AUTOMATIC REPEAT REQUEST FEEDBACK - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18474888 titled 'TRI-STATE HYBRID AUTOMATIC REPEAT REQUEST FEEDBACK

Simplified Explanation

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. An apparatus for wireless communication at a wireless node includes memories and processors that can transmit or receive tri-state feedback indicating the result of decoding communications. The tri-state feedback can indicate whether decoding of a control channel was unsuccessful, decoding of the control channel was successful but decoding of a data channel was unsuccessful, or decoding of both the control channel and data channel was successful.

  • The apparatus for wireless communication includes memories and processors.
  • The processors are configured to transmit or receive tri-state feedback indicating decoding results.
  • The tri-state feedback can have three potential states: unsuccessful control channel decoding, successful control channel decoding but unsuccessful data channel decoding, or successful decoding of both control and data channels.
      1. Potential Applications
  • Wireless communication systems
  • Mobile devices
  • Internet of Things (IoT) devices
      1. Problems Solved
  • Efficient feedback on decoding results
  • Improved communication reliability
  • Enhanced performance in wireless networks
      1. Benefits
  • Quick identification of decoding failures
  • Better overall communication quality
  • Optimal utilization of wireless resources

Original Abstract Submitted

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, an apparatus for wireless communication at a wireless node comprises one or more memories, and one or more processors, coupled to the memory. The one or more processors can be configured to transmit or receive tri-state feedback indicating a result of decoding one or more communications. The tri-state feedback can be associated with three potential states. The three potential states can indicate whether (i) decoding of a control channel was unsuccessful, (ii) decoding of the control channel was successful and decoding of a data channel was unsuccessful, or (iii) decoding of the control channel and the data channel was successful.
